V EFFECT (hereinafter referred to as the "App," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the personal information and privacy of our users (hereinafter referred to as "users" or "you"). This Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") describes how we collect, use, disclose, and manage your information when you use our habit-building social media application, V EFFECT.

1. Information We Collect

We collect several types of information in connection with your use of the App:

(1) Information Provided Directly by You

We collect information that you directly provide to us during account registration, profile setup, or through your regular use of the App:

• Account Information: Email address, username (User ID), and display name.
• Demographic Information: Date of birth, gender, and occupation.
• Preferences & Habit-Related Data: Wake-up times, task execution schedules, goals ("Hero Tasks"), template choices, and other app configuration preferences.
• User Content: Profile images, posts (including text, photographs, etc.), and any other data you generate or upload within the App.

(2) Information Collected Automatically

When you access or use the App, we may automatically collect details about your device and app usage:

• Usage & Activity Data: Logs of features used (login history, posts, reactions, friend requests, approvals, blocks, streak updates, etc.), screen transitions and navigation paths, and referral or invitation source information.
• Device & System Information: Unique device identifiers, operating system (OS) type and version, language settings, IP address, and other diagnostic data.
• Sensor Data: Information derived from built-in device sensors, such as the accelerometer.
• Crash & Diagnostics Reports: System performance, crash logs, and the state of your device when an error or malfunction occurs.

(3) Device Permissions Required

To enable specific features, the App may request access to certain functions on your device. These will only be accessed if you grant explicit permission:

• Camera and Photo Library: Required to capture or upload profile pictures and photographs for habit verification posts.
• Push Notifications: Required to send reminders, streak alerts, and notifications regarding reactions or updates from other users.

Note: The App does not access or collect your location data (e.g., GPS coordinates).

2. How We Use the Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Service Provision and Operations: To create accounts, authenticate user logins, verify identities, and facilitate social interactions (sharing posts, managing friend lists, sending reactions, etc.).
• Optimization and Personalization: To categorize goals ("Hero Tasks"), tailor user experiences based on streaks, and optimize features to match your active hours.
• Service Improvement and Analytics: To analyze usage trends (access analysis), enhance software quality, develop new features, and research and resolve errors or bugs.
• Notifications and Support: To send push notifications, communicate important announcements (such as updates to our terms or policies), and respond to your inquiries and support requests.
• Security and Fraud Prevention: To monitor, investigate, and prevent activities that violate our Terms of Service, unauthorized access, or other security threats.

3. Third-Party Sharing and Cross-Border Transfers

We do not share your personal information with third parties without your prior consent, except in the following circumstances:

• As required by applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes.
• When necessary to protect human life, physical safety, or property, and it is difficult to obtain your consent.
• When outsourcing data processing tasks to trusted service providers within the scope necessary to achieve the utilization purposes specified in this Policy.

To support our application infrastructure, authentication, analytics, and error reporting, we utilize the following external services. These service providers may process and store your information. Because these providers operate globally, your data may be transferred to and stored in servers located outside your country of residence (predominantly in the United States):

• Firebase Services (Google LLC): Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Storage, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).

Also, when using the "Sign in with Apple" feature, your information is processed in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Public Profile and Sharing with Other Users

V EFFECT is a social platform designed to help users build habits together. Consequently, certain elements of your profile (display name, username, and profile image), your posts (photos and text), goals ("Hero Tasks"), and consecutive completion records (streaks) will be shared and made visible to other users (such as your friends) in accordance with the App's default specifications and your chosen privacy settings. You may restrict who can view your posts and activity by setting your account to private (Private Account).

5. Information Security and Management

We implement reasonable and appropriate technical and administrative safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, destruction, alteration, or disclosure. For security purposes, we do not store password credentials directly; instead, we rely on secure external authentication providers.

6. Data Retention Period

We retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, or as required by law. For details on what happens when you delete your account, please refer to Section 9 (Account Deletion and Data Erasure).

7. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users who are at least 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take prompt steps to delete that information from our records.

8. Your Rights Regarding Personal Information

You have the following rights regarding the personal information we hold about you:

• Right to Access: The right to request confirmation and details of the personal information we hold.
• Right to Rectification, Addition, or Erasure: The right to request the correction, update, or deletion of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
• Right to Restrict or Suspend Processing: The right to request that we suspend or terminate the use or processing of your personal information, in accordance with applicable laws.

9. Account Deletion and Data Erasure

You can delete your account at any time through the settings menu within the App. Upon receiving an account deletion request, we will promptly delete or permanently anonymize your personal information and posts, unless we are legally required to retain certain records under applicable laws or regulatory obligations.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for regulatory updates. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated Policy within the App or through other appropriate means. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
